July 17 – Any hopes Mohamed Bin Hammam had of regaining the top job in Asian football appear to be over. As he awaits the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s verdict on his appeal against FIFA’s lifetime ban for bribery, the Asian Football Confederation has suspended him after an internal audit revealed new allegations of financial wrongdoing.
