Liverpool Adds Vauxhall

Vauxhall has signed a deal to become Liverpool’s official automotive partner.

The deal with run through the end of the 2015/16 season and begins with Liverpool’s February 8 match against Arsenal.

Vauxhall executive Duncan Aldred called the partnership “exciting” and said his company would benefit from working with the “iconic” club.

“They have highly credible football credentials,” Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said in a release, “and a reputation for engaging sponsorship activation.”

Vauxhall is already a partner of the England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales football associations.

PSG Extends Citroen Deal

Already a partner of Paris Saint-Germain, automaker Citroen has extended its deal with the club through 2017.

“Extending and developing our partnership with Paris Saint-Germain is a source of great pride,” said Citroen France director Philippe Narbeburu. “It highlights the common values held by the two brands: passion, ambition, and the love of challenge.”

PSG deputy CEO Jean-Claude Blanc said, “We are delighted to continue working with a leading French brand that has already accompanied us for the last three years.”

The deal offers the company high visibility at PSG matches at Parc des Princes, among other promotional opportunities.

Ibrahimovic Signs with Volvo

Automaker Volvo will launch a promotional campaign with Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Saturday.

The first ad for the Swedish automaker features Ibrahimovic as a hunter.

“Volvo is a global household name,” said Volvo CEO Anders Gustafsson, “but at home in Sweden, we find strength and inspiration.”

“It’s something we have in common with Zlatan,” he said of the footballer who captains Sweden’s national team.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Betting Firm Gets Chelsea Contract

Coral will be Chelsea FC’s online betting firm through 2015/16.

The two-and-a-half-year contract will give Chelsea fans exclusive offers to online bets through Coral. The company even doubled payouts for Chelsea’s 3-1 over Manchester United last Sunday ahead of the deal.

“We are very pleased to align ourselves with such a leading betting company as Coral,” Chelsea’s chief executive Ron Gourlay said in a statement.

“I hope Chelsea fans can benefit from the relationship over the next two-and-a-half years.”

Atleti to Stay With Azerbaijan

Spanish club Atletico Madrid extended their kit sponsorship with the Azerbaijani Tourist Board.

Initially the deal was to last through the 2013-14 La Liga, but Atletico will wear the iconic “Azerbaijan Land of Fire” logo on their kits through June 2015.

The logo will appear on Atletico jerseys in La Liga and European matches.

FA Cup Tie Sponsorship

English League One side Coventry City’s 4th round FA Cup kit will be sponsored by 12Bet.

Coventry’s normal kit sponsor, the Grace Research Fund, agreed to the one-off change for the FA Cup tie. 12Bet is the kit sponsor of Wigan Athletic, who shocked Manchester City in last year’s FA Cup.

“We knew once the draw was made and then when the game was chosen for television that there would be strong interest in the sponsorship of the kit,” Coventry City’s corporate manager Tynan Scope said in a statement.

The tie will be shown on BT Sport across the UK on Monday.

“12Bet’s logo received fantastic winning exposure in last season’s FA Cup,” Roy Anderson, chief executive of 12Bet said in a statement.
