(WFI) The annual Leaders in Football has been scrapped as a standalone conference as part of a shake-up by the events company.
The football event will this year be integrated into the Leaders Sport Summit along with strands on sponsorship, digital and horse racing. It takes place at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge on 8-9 October.
Leaders organisers tell INSIDER that football will still be prominent throughout the agenda, with the same amount of speakers featuring as previous years. CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb is most high-profile football executive so far confirmed to speak at the event.
The conference revamp follows a six-month consultation with speakers, delegates, media and sponsors.
“By focusing purely on the business of sport we are able to source even better speakers, accommodate more senior level business delegates and deliver a clearer customer experience,” said James Worrall, CEO of Leaders.
Around 1500 director-level delegates from clubs, leagues, associations, federations and brands drawn from 50 countries and 45 sports will gather at Chelsea’s stadium for the 7th edition of the Leaders Sport Summit.
Leaders said that two 400-person plenary rooms will be built with significant investment in a multimedia production “to create an unmissable live experience”.
