(WFI) Germany and Argentina advanced to the World Cup final, set to be staged at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium on Sunday.

The Netherlands and Brazil will compete for third place on Saturday at the Estadio Nacional de Brasilia.

Brazil suffered a devastating 7-1 loss at the hands of Germany on Tuesday. Argentina defeated the Netherlands 4-2 in a penalty shootout the following day.

Argentina have not made it to the World Cup final since 1990, which coincidentally was the same year Germany won its last World Cup.
