(WFI) Traffic Sports and Grupo Águia will together function as Brazil’s sole source of official hospitality programmes for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Worldwide rights holder MATCH Hospitality AG revealed its designation of the joint venture as exclusive sales agent within the host market.
“MATCH Hospitality is very pleased to have concluded an agreement for the sale of hospitality packages in the host country itself”, executive chairman Jaime Byrom said in a statement.
“The joint venture between Traffic Sports and Grupo Águia brings together two companies with international football credentials who can boast a unique and extensive network to offer our range of hospitality packages to the widest possible audience in Brazil.”
Grupo Águia is one of the largest specialized tour operators in Brazil, and Traffic Sports is a marketing leader throughout Latin America.
Their selection marks the latest in a series of recent agreements for key hospitality markets such as Germany, South Africa and USA with relation to the 2014 finals. As with past contracts, this one also includes the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil, a dress rehearsal of sorts for the following year’s FIFA showcase.
“We are delighted that MATCH Hospitality has chosen Grupo Águia along with Traffic Sports to sell hospitality packages in Brazil for the world’s football
fiesta,” said Grupo Águia president Wagner Abrahão.
“Thanks to our track record in sports travel, we are uniquely qualified for this task and our aim is to really perform a great job for the Brazilian corporate market. We are very much looking forward to contributing to a truly great experience for our customers and fans.”
Traffic Sports president J Hawilla also weighed in on Thursday’s announcement.
“We are proud of having been appointed exclusive sales agents with Grupo Águia for one of the key areas of the most important sports event in the world,” he said. “The 2014 World Cup is the ultimate proof of the evolvement and professionalization of Brazilian football. We are truly excited that we have been granted this privilege to apply our more than 30 years market experience.”
FIFA hospitality packages include premium tickets, reserved parking, private stadium suites and lounges as well as the option for tours, accommodation and transportation in and around Brazil.
