Arsenal, Appliance Maker Ink Deal
Arsenal will partner with an Italian home appliance maker for the next three years.
Indesit’s sponsorship of the English Premier League side is intended to boost the exposure of both parties in the UK as well as throughout Europe.
“The Arsenal name is known and recognized around the world. It is synonymous with an attractive style of play, a youthful team, innovation, tradition and winning,” Arsenal’s chief commercial officer Tom Fox said in a statement.
“The more we understood about Indesit’s approach to the market, their company values and plans for growth, the more we both realized how a relationship with Arsenal could benefit both parties.”
The partnership officially activates with the opening of the Emirates Cup on July 30.
Though the statement pointed to a “multi-million pound deal”, more exact financial terms were not released.
UEFA U-21 Finals Sign Transport Partner
Danish public transport provider Arriva will lend its services to next month’s UEFA European Under-21 championship.
“UEFA is delighted to welcome Arriva on board as a national sponsor of the U21 tournament,” UEFA events CEO David Taylor said in a statement.
“As official transportation services company of the U21 finals, Arriva will give the championship a significant boost by providing valuable exposure for the tournament across their different transportation vehicles.”
The eight-team tournament kicks off June 11 and runs through June 26. Matches are spread across Denmark in the countries of Aalborg, Aarhus, Herning and Viborg.
Premier League Players Get Image Help

Chelsea FC are enlisting the help of a sports marketing agency to promote some of its top players in China and other countries.
Bloomberg reports that ECN Management will help the west London side find endorsement deals for those 19
players for which the club owns image rights.
“Football in emerging markets, particularly in China is the most exciting growth business in sports,” ECN managing director Frederick Blackford said.
“Chelsea players are some of the most prominent ambassadors of the world game.”
Among the Chelsea players ECN hopes to leverage are newly signed striker Fernando Torres – at £50 million the most expensive British transfer ever – and defender David Luiz.
The deal with ECN follows a similar one made last month with Sportfive International.
Proske Taps New Managing Director
Hospitality specialist Proske Sports has appointed Lindsay Gomer as managing director of its newly expanded operations.

Proske will manage more than 14,000 tickets for Coca-Cola during the Euro 2012 championships in Poland and Ukraine as well as all hospitality activation within the host countries.
New Partners, Speaker for African Summit
BEN TV and FullCircle Sport Online are the newest partners of this month’s African Football Executive Summit.
Organizers also announced the addition of public service broadcasting veteran Martin Davies to their lineup of speakers.
The inaugural summit is expected to draw both football and business executives from across the African continent as well as the rest of the world to Accra, Ghana on May 26 and 27.
Among the themes listed on the agenda are “Ensuring Effective Leadership and Governance in African Football in the 21st Century”, “After the World Cup 2010 in South Africa – Next Steps for African Soccer?” and “The Player Transfer Conundrum – An African Perspective”.
