The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Angola 2010 Africa Cup of Nations have launched the publicity and marketing campaign for the tournament.
The campaign launched by Angolan premier, António Paulo Kassoma last week amidst music-cultural gala is to enhance promotional activities towards the January 10 to 31 tournament. The event also served a platform for the LOC to measure their readiness towards the hosting of the continent’s showpiece soccer event.
The ceremony marked by a symbiosis of sports and culture was highlighted by Angolan singer, Sandra Cordeiro, and South African saxophonist Mccoy Mrubata, first COCAN’s ambassador abroad, who thrilled guests with superb jazz music.
The three-week tourney, the first of its kind to be hosted by the Southern African country will take place in four cities; Luanda, Cabinda, Benguela and Lobango.
Meanwhile the draw for the tournament has been fixed for Friday, November 20, 2009 in Luanda.
This is the first time Angola is hosting the biennial championship since its inception in 1957.
