(WFI) UEFA announced on Thursday, March 15 that tickets for the upcoming Champions League final are now for sale to the public.

Fans can apply only on UEFA.com until March 22 while details on pricing and distribution are yet to be determined. However, the European football body has already established that the sale will not be on a “first-come, first-served” basis but instead a ballot will be conducted to allocate the tickets among applicants to the event.

The UEFA Champions League Final will be played in Kyiv on Saturday, May 26 and fans can purchase a maximum of two tickets per person.

Those intending to travel to the Ukrainian capital for the game will be informed via email by Friday April 6 whether they have been selected to receive their tickets. Before that, they can check the status of their application on the ticket portal.
UEFA says tickets will be shipped by mail at the beginning of May.

The Champions League now enters its quarterfinals stage as UEFA prepares the draw this Friday of the last eight teams remaining in the world’s most prestigious club tournament.

The new round includes only teams from the four arguably strongest European leagues: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla (Spain); Manchester City and Liverpool (England); Juventus and Roma (Italy); Bayern Munich (Germany).

At this stage of the tournament, there are no restrictions about pairing teams from the same country to play against each other.

The first legs of these quarterfinals will take place on April 3 and 4 and the return games the following week.
