The country is seeking to host the 2024 edition of the event and will submit its bid to the Union of European Football Associations on March 2.

Despite bidding failures for the 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 editions of the event, TFF president Yildirim Demiroren believes the time is right for the country to stage the tournament.

"Turkey is the only example of a country in Europe or even the world which has made as many as 32 stadium investments in the last few years," Demiroren said at a news conference at TFF headquarters on Wednesday.

"On this occasion we believe both as a management board and a country that we deserve to get it."

Turkey’s bid is also supported by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey is expected to receive competition from Germany and a potential joint bid from Scandinavian countries Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The deadline to enter a bid is March 3 and UEFA will announce the list of contenders on March 10.
